What is the hydrostatic strength and processing performance of PB pipe

The numerical comparison of the lower confidence limit (σLPL) of the predicted hydrostatic strength of PB-H material is shown in the following table:

In terms of processing performance, the melt flow rate (melt index) MFR (190/2.16) has been increased from 0.4dg/min to 0.6dg/min, and the production and extrusion speed has increased by 50%. The crystallization period is shortened. The crystallization period of the earliest homopolybutene PB-H material requires 14 days, which was later increased to 10 days. The crystallization period of the new generation PB-H material at room temperature is shortened to 5 days. Improve production efficiency.

Note: The data in the table are typical values, not used for material definition

From the physical properties of PB-R material, the elastic modulus has been improved, making it more suitable for coil installation. The melt index is significantly improved, which meets the high-efficiency production needs of pipe manufacturers. The extrusion speed is high and the crystallization time is greatly shortened, making short-term large-scale production possible. It is very suitable for the pipe performance requirements of surface radiant heating and cooling systems.

In terms of hydrostatic strength of PB-R, below 95℃, creep rupture is in line with the reference line of PB homopolymer, and its performance under high temperature conditions is not as good as PB-H, but no inflection point appears. Therefore, it can work safely when the temperature is as high as 95°C (abnormal situation occurs). PB-R and PB-H predict the hydrostatic strength reference curve.
